As you know from my blog post last week I finished compiling the results from the survey.

You can grab your free copy of the survey by clicking on the following link:

Autism Survey Results. Today I thought it would interesting to highlight some of the information from the survey.

The following books are the ones that were most recommended by the survey respondents.

These books are the ones on their bookshelves that they reach for when needing information or as way to try and understand their children.

The Essential Guide to Autism by Rachel Evans (Ebook)
I guess given that I carried out the survey it’s not too surprising that my ebook features as the most mentioned autism resource. However, there are many other wonderful autism resources available. If you would like to purchase a copy please click on the following link:
The Essential Guide To Autism

The Out-of-Sync Child by Carol Stock Kranowitz
The original publication offered ground-breaking insights into Sensory Processing Disorder. The newly revised edition includes extra information based on recent research carried out on vision and hearing deficits, motor skill problems, nutrition and fussy eaters, ADHA, autism, and other related disorders.

Dr. Temple Grandin’s books
Temple Grandin has written a number of books that offer fascinating insights into her world as an autistic. She uses her knowledge and experience as an animal scientist to explain the differences between autistics and non-autistics. I particularly enjoyed ‘Animals In Translation’.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon
This is a novel that focuses on Christopher, a 15 year old autistic boy who finds his neighbors dog dead in the garden and is accused of killing it. The book explores Christopher’s relationship with his parents, how they interact with him and each other and follows him on his journey of finding the real killer.

Son-Rise - by Barry Neil Kauffman
The original book ‘Son Rise’ is no longer available. However, the follow-on book ‘Son-Rise: The Miracle Continues’ continues the story of the program the Kauffman’s devised to help their autistic son Raun.
